What do you see when you stand in front of the mirror?
This picture that has been circulating on the SM gives a powerful message.
Set a bold vision for your Dunya and Aakhira, and start seeing yourself in the accomplished state. Start seeing with eyes open and eyes closed.
First, you can create something only when you know what you want. As you set the intention, ask Allah to facilitate it and start working; remember to see it with open and closed eyes.
In 2010, I set the bold goal of becoming a coach and putting a certified coach on each island of the Maldives. That was when I had nothing: just zero in my bank account. I believed that I could do it and kept chasing the goal. I kept asking Al Hayyu and Al Qayyoom to facilitate it for me. I never doubted His ability while I encountered a thousand challenges.
Fast forward to 2018, I enrolled in the first coaching certification and became a Certified Professional Coach and a member of the International Association of Coaching (IAC). Today, I have over thirteen certificates and memberships in the world's leading brands, such as Maxwell Leadership and Marshall Goldsmith. I am a certified facilitator and a speaker. Recently, I became a NLP (neurolinguistic programming) master coach and trainer. Now, I am embarking on hypnotherapy and energy healing. AlHamdulillah.
Today, I run my own coaching certification programs. I have students who look up to me for their growth and transformation. I have a team at PCOMA who bought and owned my vision and tirelessly working towards the bold vision of having a certified coach on each island of Maldives. Alhamdulillah, and In Sha Allah, the target is to achieve that goal in the next five years.
It all started in that diaper version of me. But by the grace of Allah, we are progressing daily. Initially, it was dark and dull, moving at snail speed. Somedays, it felt like if I could put one step forward, I am being dragged back with five steps.
On reflection on the last 14 years, today, I would say it has always progressed. It's similar to the parable of a Chinese bamboo tree. For the bamboo tree to grow around 80 feet tall in three months requires nearly five years of continuous nurturing.
In Soorath Al-Ankabooth, verse 69, Allah says,
And those who strive for Us – We will surely guide them to Our ways. And indeed, Allah is with the doers of good.
So, what do you want to reflect on you when you stand in front of the mirror? I would love to hear your two cents.
